Wakefield travel to France for Guisset testimonial
Wakefield will travel to France to face Catalan as part of a testimonial celebration for former France international Jerome Guisset on January 14.
Former Dragons players including Alex Chan, Justin Murphy, John Wilson, Adel Fellous, Laurent Frayssinous and Mathieu Griffi will be back at Gilbert Brutus Stadium to take part in an exhibition game for Guisset, before the current Catalan side take on Wakefield in a friendly match.
Guisset, 33, played in the NRL for Canberra before spending six seasons at Warrington, and then playing for Wigan after a spell in rugby union.
He joined Catalan for their inaugural Super League campaign in 2006, going on to make 141 appearances for the club, scoring 11 tries.
During his career, he also picked up 33 caps for France.
Catalan head coach Trent Robinson said: “I’m looking forward to play Wakefield with many new faces as well as Richard Agar. It will be a great test for our first match and a great day for the Catalans with the Testimonial of Jerome.”
Meanwhile, the Dragons will also take on London Broncos in a pre-season friendly on January 21st.
