Walsh boost for Catalans

Catalans’ Super League survival hopes have been boosted by the news that Luke Walsh hasn’t suffered a serious ankle injury.

Walsh, 30, left the field during the Dragons crucial win over Halifax last weekend, only their second triumph in The Qualifiers so far.

A club spokesperson said: “The scans revealed no ligament damage on his ankle and he will be monitored by the club’s medical staff throughout the week.”

The former St Helens half-back is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Salford, to fill the gap vacated by Michael Dobson, who is returning to Australia.

Catalans host Championship side Featherstone this weekend, before a trip to Hull KR and a home game against Widnes as they seek to avoid the Million Pound Game.
