Warrington and Steve Price apologise after comments in TV interview
Warrington have issued an apology for comments made by coach Steve Price in his interview on Sky Sports following the win over Leigh.
He used “hurtful and derogatory language” when comparing young forward Ellis Longstaff with England international back-rower John Bateman.
Sky Sports apologised live on air following the interview, and Price himself apologised in his subsequent press conference.

A Wolves statement said: “The term is wholly unacceptable and its usage has no place in the sport or society.
“Steve has since apologised, expressing his extreme regret and disappointment and corrected his remarks in his post-match press conference.
“The Club will make no further comment and the matter will be dealt with internally.”
Warrington won the match against Leigh 44-18 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Price is leaving the club at the end of the season to return to Australia, and will be replaced by current Castleford coach Daryl Powell.
