Warrington v Wakefield: Billy Magoulias in line for Wolves debut
Billy Magoulias could make his debut for Warrington in their clash against Wakefield on Saturday.
Magoulias, 25, made the move during the off-season from the NRL. He made his debut for Cronulla Sharks in 2019, and went on to make 17 appearances.
He joined Warrington on a one-year deal, with the option of an extended 12 months.
The forward sustained an injury in pre-season training and has undergone an operation which has ruled him out the start of the season. Billy Magoulias has been named by Daryl Powell for this weekend’s action.
The game will be broadcast live on Channel 4. It will be the third game presented by Adam Hill on free-to-air television.
Warrington have suffered back-to-back defeats in Super League. They opened their campaign with three wins, before falling short to Catalans and champions St Helens.
Jacob Miller returns
Half-back Jacob Miller missed out on Wakefield’s first win of the season over Toulouse. He has been named in the squad to face Warrington.
Wakefield sit ninth on the Super League table following the victory last Friday.
He replaces Sadiq Adebiyi in the squad.
Jordy Crowther, Jack Croft, Yusuf Aydin could feature after not playing last week. They continue to be without winger Tom Lineham due to injury.
Willie Poching’s side have suffered defeats to Leeds, St Helens, Catalans and Hull so far in 2022. The Rhinos, Castleford and Super League newcomers Toulouse sit below them in the table.
