Watch: Jackson Hastings nails drop-goal to claim first Wests Tigers win
Jackson Hastings kicked Wests Tigers to their first victory of the 2022 NRL season.
The 26-year-old nailed a 35 metre one-pointer with 10 seconds left to claim a 21-20 victory over Parramatta Eels on Easter Monday.
Luke Brooks was moved to five-eighth, with new face Hastings playing half-back in just his third appearance for the Tigers.
A first half double to David Nofoaluma and a try from Luciano Leilua saw the Tigers take a 14-10 lead at the break. Ken Maumalo crossed in the second half before leaving the field through injury.
A try to Parramatta’s Marata Niukore in the 68th minute set up a grandstand finish at 20-all in front of a crowd of more than 28,000.
Mitchell Moses missed his attempt, leaving Hastings to claim glory and ease pressure on head coach Michael Maguire.

More on Jackson Hastings
Hastings returned to the NRL ahead of the 2022 season with the Tigers on a two-year deal.
He made his first-grade debut with Sydney Roosters in 2014 before joining Manly Sea Eagles in 2017. He played 13 games before switching to the UK with Salford mid-way through 2018.
Hastings led the Red Devils to their first ever Grand Final appearance, while also claiming the Man of Steel Award in 2019. His form saw him called up to represent Great Britain later that year in their tour Down Under.
He went on to play at the DW Stadium with Wigan for two years, joining them in 2020. He made his second Grand Final appearance in Super League in his first season with the Warriors, falling to a 8-4 defeat to St Helens.
He also appeared for Combined Nations All Stars in their single test match against England. The fixture was played at Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington, in 2021.
