Westwood: Monday is big

Warrington’s Ben Westwood is looking forward to a chance to shine in Monday’s clash with Wigan.

Westwood, 31, sees the match as an opportunity to help his international chances, especially with fellow England second row Liam Farrell on the opposite side.

He said, “Of late Wigan and Warrington has become the game people want to watch. It is a top of the table clash with quite a bit of rivalry, so as a player you need to be able to keep up to give yourself a chance of England selection.

“I try to concentrate on Warrington and my own game but there is no getting away from the fact that Farrell has been a top performer this year.

“It is healthy competition and it should be a good battle on Monday.”

Westwood has been in superb try-scoring form recently, crossing the whitewash four times in his last two club games.
