Widnes promote young quartet to first team
Widnes have promoted four young players to the club’s first team ahead of the 2021 Championship season.
Oliver Brookes, Will Tilleke, Josh Wilde and Daniel Hill will all be part of Simon Finnigan’s first team squad in 2021 after representing the club’s reserves last season. All four players are a product of Widnes’ academy system.
Brookes is a winger who featured in a pre-season friendly away to Rochdale last year while back-rower Wilde was also on the scoresheet during that match.
Widnes-born prop Tilleke impressed during his time with the club’s academy before featuring for the reserves in 2020.
Full-back Hill has been with the Vikings at scholarship, academy and reserves level and will now make the step up to the club’s first team.
