Widnes sign Danny Tickle

Widnes Vikings have confirmed the signing of Danny Tickle for the 2014 season.

Tickle, 30, has signed a three-year deal at Halton Stadium and will leave current club Hull FC after over 160 appearances for the Black and Whites.

The goal-kicking back rower is excited by the prospect of a fresh challenge.

He said: “After seven years at Hull, now is the perfect time for me to move on and test myself again.

“Widnes are definitely a club on the way up and when I’ve spoken with Denis (Betts), the things he’s had to say have confirmed this even more.

“Fom coming into Super League last season, you can already see the progression they’ve made. They’re now starting to come together as a team and looking at some of the performances they’ve been putting in, it’s obvious that things are only going to get better.”

Tickle’s trusty left foot has seen him total over 2000 points in his career so far, and Vikings fans will hope to see this continue from next season.
