Wigan coach plays down Paul Wood speculation
Wigan coach Shaun Wane says he knows nothing about rumours linking Warrington prop Paul Wood with a move to the DW Stadium.
Wood, 31, turned out for Swinton in the Championship on Sunday, after he was dual-registered with the Lions at the end of last week.
Speculation is increasing over his Wolves future, with reports today suggesting the Warriors were keen on signing the Wigan-born forward.
But Wane said: “I’ve not heard a thing about that. Paul Wood is a great player who I admire but I’ve not heard anything about a move here.”
Wood has made more than 230 appearances for Warrington since his debut in 1999 and is a one-club man.
Wigan host the Wolves in Super League on Friday night, in front of the SKY TV cameras.
