Wigan front-rowers Stuart Fielden and Andy Coley have been handed new contracts at the DW Stadium.

Fielden, 30, has signed a two-year deal with Coley signing a deal for 2011, with an option for 2012.

Head coach Michael Maguire said: “We are delighted that both players have agreed extension terms. Stuart and Andy have both been outstanding for us this year and have played a big part in helping us finish top of the table. Both are strong powerful forwards with a tremendous attitude and they will undoubtedly play an important role as we go into the business end of this season and beyond.”

Fielden followed coach Brian Noble from Bradford to Wigan in 2006, helping the Warriors avoid relegation. Coley, 32, joined from Salford at the start of the 2008 season having earned international honours for Great Britain in the autumn of 2007.

Coley said: “I am pleased that my future at Wigan has been secured. I have enjoyed my time here so far and, hopefully, the League Leader’s Shield success is only the first part of silverware to come.”

Coley has made 90 appearances, scoring 10 tries, while Fielden has racked up 128 appearances for the Warriors.

The former Bradford prop added: “I always wanted to stay as I am really enjoying my rugby. Wigan is a great Club with wonderful fans.”
