Salford Red Devils prop Tyler Dupree has joined Wigan Warriors

Wigan Warriors have signed Tyler Dupree from Salford Red Devils with immediate effect, with Brad Singleton going the other way.

England international Dupree, 23, has signed a four-year contract with Wigan, with Salford receiving a club record transfer fee.

The move sees experienced prop Brad Singleton move to Salford immediately as part of the deal.

Dupree said: “First of all I want to thank Salford for giving me the opportunity to get back into Super League and helping me find the level I like to play at.

“To the fans, for taking me in and supporting me, as a nobody really, and for helping me become what I am now.

“I’m absolutely made up to join Wigan, it’s a great club with great history and great ambition to go forward for the future and I’m really excited for times ahead.”

Red Devils director of rugby and operations Ian Blease said: “Since joining the club, Tyler’s progression as a rugby player has been outstanding.

“To see him pull on an England shirt was a proud moment for myself, the coaching staff and all his team-mates.

“I would like to thank Tyler for all his efforts as a Red Devil and wish him the best in his future career.”

Wigan Warriors coach on arrival of Tyler Dupree and departure of Brad Singleton

Dupree has become one of the standout front-rowers in Super League since arriving at Salford from Widnes in 2022, and made his England debut earlier this year.

Warriors head coach Matt Peet said: “Tyler will bring a strong running no-nonsense style to our forward pack.

“He is a great age and has his best years ahead of him and he will complement our forward pack really well.”

Meanwhile, Singleton had already agreed a deal to link up with Salford upon the expiry of his Wigan contract in 2024.

Peet added: “Brad joined us in September 2020 in the dark days of COVID, and led a young forward pack to a League Leaders’ Shield and Grand Final.

“He had agreed to join Salford after this season and we felt that with us wanting Tyler for the next few years, it made sense to make the switch now.

“Throughout his time at Wigan, he has been a quality professional and team-mate and a pleasure to coach.

“I wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

Salford Red Devils ‘delighted’ to secure services of Brad Singleton

Former Ireland international Singleton has linked up with the Red Devils on a deal until the end of the 2025 season, linking up with his team-mates immediately.

Singleton has won two Super League titles and two Challenge Cups throughout his career as well as representing Ireland in the 2017 World Cup.

Blease added: “We are delighted to secure a player of Brad’s calibre for the next few years.

“Brad knows what it takes to win the major honours and will bring invaluable experience to the dressing room.

“He is a hard-working individual, who will reinforce our forward pack for the remainder of this season, 2024, and beyond.

“I am excited to see him pull on the Red Devils jersey for the first time.”
