Williams ruled out of England Test
George Williams has been ruled out of England’s Test match against Samoa with a knee injury sustained in Wigan’s 54-4 Super League defeat at Castleford.
Williams was due to travel to Australia on Sunday, but he will now undergo scans to determine the extent of his injury after failing to reappear for the second half of the game.
Wigan boss Shaun Wane said: “George has done something to his knee. He’ll get it scanned tomorrow. I doubt he’ll be able to catch the flight, he can’t walk.”
Sean O’Loughlin aggravated a groin injury in the game, but will be able to catch the flight to Sydney according to Wigan and England doctor Chris Brooks.
