Workington respond to Kiwi criticism

Workington Town have made a statement in respond to criticism from New Zealand about Derwent Park.

The Kiwis were unhappy about the state of Derwent Park, now known as Zebra Claims Stadium, where their Four Nations match with Scotland was played.

New Zealand draw that match 18-18 with the Bravehearts.

Workington said a statement to Love Rugby League which reads: “The Workington Town board have been asked several times over the last few days to comment on the New Zealand camp criticism of the facilities at Derwent Park.

“Everyone involved at Workington Town believes in and lives by the sporting principles of dignity and graciousness.

“We were very proud to host the New Zealand team at our stadium and they are welcome back at any time.”
