World Club Challenge tickets selling well
Rugby League fans are being urged to move quickly to secure their ticket for the historic world title decider between Super League champions Leeds Rhinos and NRL grand final winners Melbourne Storm.
The two most successful Rugby League clubs of the modern era meet in the 2013 World Club Challenge at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Friday February 22 (8.00) in a showdown which is firing the public’s imagination.
With less than 10 days to kick-off, fewer than 1,000 tickets remain unsold and supporters who have not yet purchased their ticket are advised to do so within the next few days.
“The World Club Challenge has always been a massive occasion but the interest in this match between Super League’s best and the NRL’s premier side is scaling new heights,” said RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood.
“Leeds and Melbourne have set the standard in their respective competitions for much of the last decade and it’s clear that the prospect of being crowned world champions means everything to both clubs.
“Melbourne have flown in to the UK especially early to step up their preparations and have brought a truly star-studded squad which features many of the players who will return to the UK in the autumn to drive Australia’s bid to win Rugby League World Cup 2013.
“With Leeds led by England captain Kevin Sinfield and Melbourne skippered by Australia captain Cameron Smith, the stakes in a World Club Challenge match have never been higher.”
Only a handful of individual seating tickets remain and all standing tickets in the South Stand and Carnegie Terrace have already been sold but less than 1,000 tickets remain on the Western Terrace.
Ticket prices for standing are £23 for adults and £16 for concessions (senior citizens 65 and over, students upon production of valid ID and juniors aged 16 and under) and can be purchased by calling the Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office on 0871 423 1315 (calls are charged at 10p – calls from mobiles may vary), by visiting the ticket office at Headingley Carnegie Stadium or online at www.therhinos.co.uk
