South Wales Scorpions have signed Welsh international Yannic Park on loan from the University of Gloucestershire All Golds on a month’s loan.

The 24-year-old has previously played for the Scorpions, in an eight-game spell in 2012.

“We’re delighted to have got the services of Yannic on an initial one month loan,” said Scorpions coach Mike Grady.

“He will bring experience with him after his time under John Kear with the national side and provide us with much needed competition for places.

“Yannick is a good player with plenty of experience, he is a fantastic bloke who will fit into our environment straight away, he comes straight into contention for the London Skolars game.

“Although there are no big expectations or external goals set for the boys, we set our own internal targets as individuals and as a group, against All Golds we fell massively short and if we need to bring others in alongside Yannic and can squeeze them in within our budget we will.

“I’d just like to place on record my thanks to the All Golds and their coach Lee Greenwood in their handling of the deal with our team manager Neil Williams. We always had a good relationship with them while I’ve been here in South Wales.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on Sunday 12th April as we take on London Skolars in Mountain Ash.”
